The NCPGA Junior Golf Tour has developed its very own ranking structure designed to determine the best golfers on the eTOUR based on an overall points competition. This will determine the top boy & top girl from the eTOUR as the PRO-Power Ranking Player of the Year. Points for 2010 rankings will begin at the first event at Stockton Golf & Country Club March 19-20, 2010.
Who is eligible?:
eTOUR Boys 14-15, 16-18 and Girls 12-14, 15-18
Why only these age groups?:
You may notice that the age division of Boys 12-13 is left out of the ranking structure. This is due to male and female athletes’ physical development through adolescence and the timing of this development. It is a well-known scientific fact that females mature more rapidly through adolescence than do males. Therefore, the physical strength and capabilities of a 12-year old girl’s golf swing versus an 18-year old makes them capable of competing on the same level. Male strength and physical resiliency dramatically improves after their 14th birthday, therefore Boys 12-13 will be left out of the ranking structure.
What is the reward?:
The above players will be ranked on the eTOUR PRO-Power Rankings Roster. The top ranked boy and girl will be announced as the eTour PRO-Power Rankings Player of the Year at our 2010 Tour Championship and Player's Banquet. The top boy and girl will also be invited to play a round of golf and have lunch at the historic Olympic Club (site of the 2012 U.S. Open Championship) with 2008 PGA Northern California Section Golf Professional of the Year John Abendroth and PGA Head Golf Professional Chris Stein.
